So, of late I've been playing a free online MUD, it's called The Burning Post II or BurPII. It's a mainly a fantasy styled RP world called Urth, it's set in a similar theme to that of the Spanish Inquisition, only there really are mages and the Church is good and not evil. Figured I'd share just in case any of you are interested in old school RP like that.

Oh yes, NO GRINDING, the only way to get XP is to RP. Your 'poses' generate xp, and using a skill generates learning for that specific skill. Non skill related XP can still be applied back to skills, but can also be used to increase your stats.

If any of you decide to give it a try let me know, and I'd be happy to give you a hand and help you get started.

I'll check it out. You really should post more often here.

Me, it looks like you haven't been on in like a year... or at least it did yesterday.

I should though, you're right. I just tend to have very little to say about most of the topics. If you do check out BurP, my character is Elior, let any of the 'immortal's' know that you're my friend and they'll hook you up I'm sure.

If any of y'all do decide to check this out, I suggest start as a 'Reeve' in terms of profession. They are the civil law enforcement guild, which is presently vacant (last guild leader was just assassinated).

I am presently the Archbishop, the GL for the religious guild if that appeals to anyone more, it's heavily based on the Catholic religion.

There are also Knights, which are more like Knights Templar, and report to the church.

Brotherhood - Robin Hood types/criminals

Mages - The ones that get burned.

Troubadours - Bards/Spys

Merchants - Crafting (Armor/Weapons/Clothing/Jewelry/Cooking)

Chimerists - Academic types, doctors, alchemists, etc.

Based on what I know about the folks here I am pretty sure law and order is their last choice. I suspect they are more in line with the merchants and those that relieve the merchants of their goods.

If I had time to play games I would try it out.

I had that exact same thought, however, there is no reason they can't play a corrupt cop taking bribes and such. That's how I rationalized it in my mind anyway :)
