SHE ALSO READS COMIC BOOKS BRO

My Wife plays DDO with me pretty much every night. Most of our character builds are Duo-based.
When we go raiding- she's now the new "Map Girl" with her Nexus 7.

My wife plays Super Mario Brother, Tetris and anything on addictingames.com. I've tried valiantly to get her to play an MMO and she is like "I don't want to get sucked in, we have kids to raise."

Mine asks me "how do I win?" I think you may be missing the point of a cooperative multiplayer game. But she is pretty much an Angry Birds and whatever the latest Spyro game is.

Liz bought a new gaming rig just to play Skyrim, and when I was saying how much I wish Elder Scrolls games had a co-op LAN mode so the two of us could play together, she basically told me I was crazy and she was never letting me play in her Elder Scrolls games.

A). Because she loves being the star of her own narrative, and
B). I am an asshole in Elder Scrolls games and murder everything and everyone.

...and then there's some of the rest of us that wish they were having this type of argument with their wives.

Want to hear the best argument evar?

We had a pretty bad raid one night. Total team wipe and some of the guys were (wrongly) blaming Katherine for targeting the wrong bad guy and not taking him out (She's a Monk). My main is a Battle Cleric and valiantly held the last ground as the End Boss of the quest took us down.
Everyone -including her- was pretty upset about it. After a tense day IRL, we finally argued about it- pretty much raising our voices over tactics in the quest- until finally my point hit home- "I didn't care that you may or may not have targetted the wrong guy- those guys (the rest of our team) were idiots who didn't pull their weight, I cared that you left my side -You Left Me- and when the Cleric goes down, the team goes down. They should have let me establish our safe zone with my Blade Barrier- rather than yell at you to charge the Boss."
After she thought about it (in our gaming- she had never once left my back unguarded- even sacrificing herself at times) She said- "you're right. Our duo is more important than any adventurers we pick up."

Eff that noise. I play games the way they were intended... As pure escapism. I don't need or want my old lady horning in on that time, too.

Yeah. Same way I don't take the wife to the bar. I can't be hitting on guys dressed as chicks in either setting if the wife is around.

I have no clue what you just said. I really need to read up on this. I usually either play a spy/thief type character or a healer. Not that I haven't been known to throw down as some sort of a strictly warrior class but that isn't really my thing. I prefer supporting cast type skill sets.

I have no idea what I'm going to roll yet. The type of dude I like to play is likely not supported by a rigid videogame rule set. I like Adepts but not necessarily melee ones, and that might be the only thing they support. Depends on how flexible/modular the rules/character creation is.

And I have no idea what Liz will roll. She did a Street Samurai last time. No telling what she'll roll this time.

I read that earlier with their email update...It sounds like a good idea to balance weapons without making a specific gun THE gun you have to have in each class (like pretty much every other game in the world).

I got an e-mail from these guys this week saying the release date is being pushed back to the end of Q1 2014 due to the company being bought. I have a bad feeling about this.

Same. I read that email as "Newp, not getting this game anytime soon."

I was also pissed about them overspending their budget. FFS make the fucking game you said you could with the money you asked for and received.

Same, but they seem to be really bad at communicating (maybe because they're European?). Do Kickstarters get access to the Beta on the 31st? The Steam Early Access thing? Is that fulfillment or?

Well...I like the loading screen and the ominous tones that play while the game is supposedly loading. Oh...and then there's Bowler. It's supposed to be a Johnson, but the art reminds me of 'Shin for some reason.

I'm two missions in and it's kind of a snooze fest. I think they rushed this out so they could show some progress and then ask for more money.

Okay... I get that shit went bad for these guys but really I am a bit annoyed by the whole situation. My take on the latest update.

1. Instead of the awards paid for they want to give us .pdf files of Shadowrun books?
2. Minis are too expensive. Thanks for you donation. Ouch.

So I can get pdfs that are the equivalent value of what exactly? A pdf isn't worth a whole lot to me. This experience has definitely soured me on investing in video games. I should have invested in moist towelettes or buttwipes. Maybe I will play this as a memorial https://projecthawkthorne.com/.

Check out the dollar shave club, I think you will find your investment well worth it.

You have to watch the commercial on the website, all of their commercials are awesome.

I'm aware of Dollar Shave Club and their buttwipes.

Gillette is the only thing I buy anymore that is the best a man can get.

Wow I am really sorry to hear that these guys completely dropped the ball. I almost always only kick stuff at the "get the game and the game only" level because none of the books/t-shirts or anything are ever even remotely at retail value (because they want a large return).

Really sick of companies fucking up Kickstarters for everyone.

It was one of those I don't really care that I may not get the full ROE because I will probably have fun with my friends type things. But that really hasn't happened so even the meager shit that I don't get now makes this feel like a total boning. The other Shadowrun I gave significantly more than the game cost to as well but I got a finished game there and I enjoyed it. It was something I wanted that wasn't being filled by any other game so I felt like the investment was worthwhile. Here we don't really have a finished game and we didn't get any swag.

At least I have journey to the center of hawkthorne. That is a bonus to the boning I am taking on this game.
