Thoughts?

Before reading the article I was like wtf let him join the hall who cares anymore, but after reading it, it seems Ole Pete never learned his lesson and still bets on stuff, lies on the stand, etc etc... = dumbass

Though he said he only ever bet on the Reds to win, never to lose, but still...

For MLB's sake, he serves as symbol that they can say that they were "tough" on. An example that they can use against their horrible PED enabling legacy. They'll probably shut him out until he dies, or forever, to use as a bogey-man for everyone else of modern times. The 1919 White Sox fix is ancient history for modern sports times, so Rose is a fresher reminder.

Personally, I think performance awards should be based in-game performance, period. If HoF is that, then put him in. If not, then don't. I don't know the rules but it looks like it's up to many personal opinions with baseball writers, etc. So, no go. I don't mind.

I do like the way he played the game, regardless.

Ban him from coaching because that is where he broke the rules.

Let him in the HOF. He played the game good enough to deserve that regardless of his off field activities.

I don't like that MLB says they want a relationship with him because they know that they can make money off of him. When it comes to recognizing him for what he did on the field they get all stupid.

At the end of the day I still don't watch baseball anymore. Haven't watched more than a game in a season since 1992.
