Cutler out a few weeks with his injury, just as he was looking decent under Adam Gase...

The awful Jimmy Clausen to start

This team is hot garbage. They should start tanking now and keep their fingers crossed for the draft.

Cutler was doing better, I was pleased with his play under Gase.

Where we do suck is:
Our cornerbacks are awful
Our pass rush, which I'll chalk up to a new def scheme
Our backup qb is awful...I don't even want to know what our backup to the backup is like
Having our star receiver out injured sucks

I can't believe he pulled a hammy falling to the dirt.

For fuck's sake I'm older than he is and I could dive onto Soldier Field and hit nobody and not get hurt.

Any guesses how bad we're gonna get our asses kicked today?

I'll guess 42-10, with Seattle putting in the subs after halftime

Based on the first quarter I guess 12-0.

The Bears are the new Lions. Maybe a couple years in the basement will encourage them to burn this organization to the ground and start over with a front office that isn't absolute garbage. I'm done until then.

Just putting this out here...

Even though, the Bears record isn't good, their last 5 losses were with 3 points...

And even with all the receiver injuries etc the to, Cutler has a 92.2 ab passer rating, highest of his career, and only 7 ints, the lowest

So you are saying the highlights of the season are that:

1) We usually don't lose that bad;
2) Our QB sucks less than usual.

Lemons into lemonade.

You gotta do what you gotta do

Or

That important coaching changes and player attitudes have built a foundation, that once the new system is fleshed out, and they get a solid base of talent, and don't get decimated by injuries, this could be something really really good

I would look at the fact that you would be 8-6 if Gould wasn't off his game this year. Now you shouldn't rely on a kicker to carry you but as the fan of a team on their 4th kicker this season I can feel the pain. Gould certainly isn't the only reason you lost, but he didn't win you those games either.

The same can be said of all teams everywhere in every sport. The fact of the matter is that their ownership still doesn't know how to evaluate front office talent for shit. Pace still hasn't done anything yet to prove that he's any better than the parade of garbage we've had for the last few decades and while Fox looks like a good hire, Dick Jauron also had a 6-10 record his first year and we know how awesome his tenure was (1 season to the playoffs, coincidentally the only winning season of his entire nfl coaching career). I want the Bears to be good, I really do. But this seems more like a dead cat bounce than actual, legitimate improvement.

TLDR summary, Bears football is trash-garbage and doesn't deserve your patronage until the ownership realizes they don't know fuck-all about running a team.

This is win-win. Playing the averages, Forte is likely on his last legitimate contract and he deserves to be on a team that can compete. The Bears are in full blown rebuild and won't be competitive until Forte's skills have diminished. Langford filled in well enough that it would be crazy to spend pro-bowl money on a running back who can't will this team into the playoffs with the roster as it is. Bears can spend money where they need it and Forte can hopefully sign a deserved big money contract with a team that doesn't suck up and down the field.
