Tressman's quote was "There's like 10 things I can do with you in this offense." So yeah, I'm hoping he at least becomes a utility player. Special teams blocking, kick holder, whatever. I of course want to see him take a ball and run with it but I don't know what he can do in the pros. He's kinda small compared to the other guys out there.

He's 6 foot at 225. He's the second largest RB on the team. Size isn't his issue. It's being able to play special teams.

So back to Lynch. Was excited to see him get some snaps late in the 4th in the 1st preseason game. Had two really nice runs. Managed the clock and didn't go out of bounds when he needed to stay in and run the clock out. 7 carries. 24 yards. Average 3.4/carry. For hardly getting any snaps in practice and debuting in the NFL in that situation? He looked like he wanted the job.

Ironically he was the Bears leading rusher for the game :B

Also he's exciting the shit out of Chicagoland. He's trending on Twitter (for Chicago) just behind Claussen. I am excite! More minutes in game 2!!!

Down 17-0 the Bears come back to dominate and win 28-20!

What a comeback!

It reminded the commentators of this reaction the last time we came back from such a deficit, lmao

They played one good quarter of football against a team that imploded. I'm happy for your team but there are a lot of concerns I would have going forward. Between turnovers and penalties it should have been a lot worse than it was.

Okay after that game, all is forgiven, and I see us running the tables here, getting the wildcard, and taking this all the way to the big house and winning the Super Bowl.

Don't even need a link, but saw Cutler was being benched, extending his contract is 100% in question and being reviewed.

At this point I'm not even sure who they'd get a trade from for him. Tampa Bay? Anyone in the AFC South except for maybe The Saints?

I don't think it's a super brave move at this point. Like, whatever, season's been over for 3 games. You could even spin it as "we're protecting our quarterback since this last game doesn't even matter," but at least he's getting benched.

SUPER glad we signed him to that contract. That's awesomesauce. Great we didn't franchise him for one last year while we scouted for a trade/draft.

Putting Cutler back in is a mistake, I think. The problem in week 16 wasn't throwing; it was lack of catching. The problem weeks 1-15 was throwing. Surprise, yet another dumb decision, and it sends the wrong message (that it's not Cutler's lack of discipline and shitty attitude).

Was it from the helmet-to-helmet? Because wow Detroit is really getting rid of that "dirty hit" image with that and the ankle stomp.

Well, fuck all of that then.

I'm not surprised Harbaugh would go to Michigan. There's no way any other team was going to cough up that money. One thing is for certain: never sending my kid to Michigan. What a waste of $48mm.

They get $100+ million in revenue for their football program annually. $8 million is a pittance to pay to keep that funding stream open. I'd link to the Forbes article but there are two issues with that. 1. It is fucking Forbes and their site is shit. 2. They don't seem to be calculating the booster donations to the programs and that has to be considered as revenue. Also, their expenses are fucking wrong as well.

ESPN has a good breakdown on R/E but theirs is dated (2008). http://espn.go.com/ncaa/revenue

I guess? I'd just rather see the money go towards students, obvs. I get that the football brings in a ton of money.

The Chicago Bears have hired John Fox to be the next head coach, the former head coach of the Denver Broncos and Carolina Panthers. Since 2002, Fox has a regular season record of 208-119 with 14 playoff wins. He’s won two conference championships, six division championships and been to the Super Bowl twice as a head coach.

Panthers were 1-15 in 2001. Fox led them into the Super Bowl two years later. Broncos were 4-12 in 2010. Fox led them to playoffs in 2011.
