Details released today about civil war as they started filming

http://moviepilot.com/posts/2015/05/07/ ... nal,manual

Short version?

Antman joins the Avengers, and captain America basically takes all the heroes you see at the end of Ultron into battles etc etc...

Essentially it's Avengers 2.5

Yeah Civil War is like "fuckit let's keep going. Oh, and you forgot to add Spidey"

I think I've figured out where they're going for Phase 4.

New Avengers (literally, the name of the comic) just wrapped a big story arc. I'm not a fan of it but I need to read beyond the first volume. The cast of the New Avengers (Everything Dies) comic?

Iron Man
Captain America
Black Panther
Dr. Strange
Reed Richards
Beast
Black Bolt
Whatshisface who isn't Aquaman

Now, I know we're probably going to lose Stark after his contract wraps up, and they can't get Reed or Beast, but that cast (and they fact they all each start the book with an Infinity Gem) makes it look like that's where Phase 3's lineup is headed.

Pym replaces Reed, Maybe someone from Immortals instead of Beast. Dunno about Bolt and Marvel Aquaman.

You mean Namor, the granddaddy of all mutants? They'd have to make him an inhuman too

Oh, and duh, if Thor doesn't leave you can have him instead of Black Bolt.

This is all....just... :atomic: I wonder if the Nitro incident will be the tipping point. Whatever. Almost everything I'm reading is blazing!

Also, I'm calling this now:

They're going to kill Stark in Civil War. Cap will live, Stark will die (because they need to lose him once the contract is up). Iron Man will either be replaced by Falcon or War Machine (or the kid he helped in IM3).

Cap is the big-hearted hero who had to die in the comics. Stark is the crowd favorite in the MCU. He's the guy who kicked it all off and his side is gonna take the hit in the CV.

Rdj is still under contract for infinity war 1 and 2 so he isn't dying

Everything I can find says that he's under contract for Ultron and "Avengers 3." Which could easily be Civil War with the cast that's in it at this point. He's also saying "There's no Iron Man 4," and he's saying that by the time he promotes Civil War he'll be 50 and he's ready to move on.

It kiiiiiiinda sounds like he might not be in Infinity War, and that Civil War could be the "Avengers 3" in his contract. There's no way he'd agree to do TWO films in his contract (Infinity War 1 and 2) for the price of one (Avengers 3).

Oops my bad...read it wrong

Here’s how the contracts currently stand for Marvel Studios’ heavy hitters. Evans is up for one more Captain America film, which will be Civil War, and one more Avengers film after Age of Ultron. Similarly, Downey Jr. has run out his contract for Iron Man films plus Age of Ultron and one more. Notice a pattern? It’s the same for Hemsworth.

There are other Avengers, of course. Mark Ruffalo (Hulk) signed a six picture deal with five to go as revealed by a Mandatory round-up of contracts. Others like Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow) and Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye) are on a movie to movie contract with Marvel. Meanwhile, Sebastian Stan (Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier) signed a nine picture deal as did Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury).

Yeah kinda looks that way, but I still find it hard to believe that they'd kill off marvels biggest star, the reason we have all these awesome movies in the mcu...it's all because of iron man...

I guess we'll see...

Also the question is why is the hulk on a 6 pic deal with 4 to go, and why in the hell does Bucky have a 9 pic deal with 7 to go?

Nick fury sure...he's in every marvel movie...but Bucky?

That's what I'm saying! The Civil War was supposed to be shocking and shake shit up in the Marvel Universe. This is the perfect opportunity to drop that bomb, and set up Dr. Strange, Black Panther, (and Falcon and War Machine who they've been prepping since forever) as the new Avengers.

Hulk needs his own pic or two, so Infinity 1 and 2 plus a couple solo shots is his 4 movies.

No idea about Bucky. They obvs have huge plans for him. Maybe Bucky becomes new Cap?

So I think the New Avengers: Everything Dies prediction is even more likely the Phase 4 direction, because we've all been saying "Secret Wars" would probably be Phase 4, or maybe Phase 5.

The new Secret Wars reboot just came out this month, and the first issue references the "Incursions" that happen when one universe collides with another universe, which is the plot of the New Avengers: Everything Dies plotline. They have to stop every Incursion as they happen to protect Marvel's Earth's Universe.

This is the Comixology listing for the new Secret Wars reboot, basically saying "yeah, New Avengers plot ties directly into Secret Wars"

Quote:
https://www.comixology.com/Secret-Wars-2015-1-of-8/digital-comic/218914?ref=c2l0ZS9pbmRleC9kZXNrdG9wL3NsaWRlckxpc3QvNjU2OA

Secret Wars (2015-) #1
The final incursion is happening! The Marvel Universe is colliding with the Ultimate Universe, and neither will survive!

Doesn't Bucky end up taking over for Captain America when he dies?

Looked it up and got this...

So far Chris Evans/Steve Rogers Cap has been in:

Cap1
Cap2
Cap3 (next year)
Avengers1
Avengers2

and he's uncredited as Cap in Thor2

If Thor 2 counts as his 6th film, then Cap 3 is it and he'll have hit his 6 movie contract.

So Bucky for 9 isn't really that far of a stretch. It's more than Chris Evans but less than Agent Coulson (supposedly a ridonkulous 16 films or something)

So in this contractual plus knowledge of marvel comic storyline, their plan is...

Kill iron man in civil war when rdj is done

Then kill CA and replace him with Bucky during/after avengers 3

Ugh I hate both... And I especially hate Bucky replacing CA...

Especially since they're killed off their number 1 and 2 fave mcu chars... I just saw an article that showed screen time for all chars in avengers 2, and these 2 had the most...

I dunno, just doesn't jive with me

There's tons of those in Civil War since so many humans died in the Nitro event. Could be anything.
